Bharat: In yet another instance of ceasefire violation, Pakistani Army posts resorted to unprovoked small-arms fire during the night of 30 April-01 May 2025 across multiple sectors along the Line of Control (LoC), namely Kupwara, Uri, and Akhnoor in the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir.
According to defence sources, the firing began late at night and continued intermittently, targeting forward Indian positions in a clear violation of the established ceasefire understanding. The Indian Army, maintaining a high level of operational readiness, responded proportionately and effectively to the aggression, ensuring no collateral damage or civilian casualties on the Indian side.
The unprovoked aggression from the Pakistani side once again highlights Islamabad’s intent to disrupt peace along the LoC and divert attention from its internal political and economic instability. These provocations, although limited in scale, are seen as part of a broader pattern of hostility often observed around significant domestic or international events.
Sources further stated that the Indian Army exercised maximum restraint, responding only to neutralize immediate threats while avoiding any escalation. “Our troops remain vigilant and are fully capable of safeguarding the territorial integrity of the nation. Any misadventure will be dealt with firmly"senior Army official said.
The latest firing incident has sparked strong condemnation from strategic analysts, who view Pakistan’s repeated ceasefire breaches as acts of desperation in the face of growing diplomatic isolation. The Indian Army, however, continues to maintain a posture of deterrence-with-dignity, committed to peace yet prepared for any exigency.
As of now, no injuries to Indian personnel have been reported. Surveillance has been intensified in the affected sectors, and the situation is being closely monitored at the highest levels.
This episode underscores the importance of India’s firm yet responsible stance along the LoC peace is desired, but not at the cost of security.
