In a swift and well-coordinated operation, Assam Rifles successfully rescued a 27-year-old civilian who had been abducted by unidentified miscreants from Ghatao village in Manipur’s Noney district.
The individual, a native of Nawalsahi in Jharkhand, was employed with a private civil company operating in the region. He was kidnapped on the night of April 30, 2025, raising concerns over the safety of civilian workers in remote areas of the state.
Upon receiving the information, Assam Rifles acted promptly and launched an immediate response. Troops on the ground engaged with local community leaders and Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) to trace the victim's whereabouts and facilitate his safe release.
Thanks to the timely intervention and close coordination with local stakeholders, the individual was successfully rescued without any harm. The operation stands as a strong example of the Assam Rifles' proactive approach and dedication to safeguarding civilians in conflict-sensitive zones.
This rescue once again underscores the crucial role of security forces in maintaining peace and protecting lives in the northeastern region. It also highlights the importance of community cooperation in ensuring swift and effective responses to such incidents.(PR)
