Manipur is witnessing a fresh spurt in covid -19 cases in recent days and the government has taken the fresh spike seriously and banned all types of tourism activities from July 20, 2022. In addition to the gathering of persons in activities related to tourism. Officials said the ban order will remain in force till the COVID-19 situation improves.
In a bid to minimize fresh infections of the COVID-19 cases, Manipur health officials said, some of the people who are operating home stays at Loktak Lake have been instructed to demolish the Manipur-style thatched houses where food and other services are available. Not only this, the entry of tourists into parks, gardens, cultural heritage sites, temples and hotels is also banned.
According to health services sources, there were reports of around 100 persons getting infected with COVID-19 every day. Thus, the government has renewed the advisory to wear masks and strictly follow all COVID-19 protocols.
