Two local terrorists have been killed and an India army jawan injured in an encounter which broke out early in the morning between terrorists and joint team of security forces including army, SOG of Jammu and Kashmir Police and CRPF in Ranbirgrah outskirts of Srinagar city in Jammu and Kashmir.
Earlier security forces got inputs about the presence of terrorists in the area after forces launched a massive search operation in the area, when security forces started search operation in the area the hiding terrorists in a residential house fired upon search party which was retaliated by forces, in the initial exchange of gunfire an army soldier was hit by a bullet in his leg and was immediately evacuated to the hospital for further treatment officials told that the jawan is stable. In the ensuing gunfight two terrorists were neutralized both the terrorists were affiliated with LeT outfit and one among them was a top commander active from 2018. One AK47, Pistol ammunition and other war like items were recovered from the spot, officials also told that the terrorists were given opportunity to surrender but they denied and started firing on forces after forces successfully eliminated the terrorists.
So far 147 terrorists have been killed by security forces in different encounter in the Kashmir Valley which include many top commanders.
In order to maintain the law and order authorities suspended the Mobile internet services in the parts of Srinagar city, both the killed terrorists are believed to be locals however officials are yet to confirm the identification.
In an another effort by security forces they apprehended a local terrorist in Awantipora area of South Kashmir's Pulwama district, Sources told @SudarshanNewsTV that he was recently recruited terrorist.
