These guidelines were issued on 1st October, 2021 after Britain took a tough stand. Under this, the Government of India had made it mandatory for people coming from Britain to stay in quarantine for 10 days despite the vaccine being dosed and that too at their own expense. Apart from this, it was also mandatory to bring RT-PCR report 72 hours in advance. Also, testing had to be done even after eight days of coming to India. After this rule of the government, the British government had come on the back foot.
After withdrawing the revised guidelines, now only the guidelines issued in February will continue to apply. Under this, there will no longer be a quarantine for 10 days and many other rules will be exempted.
