Manipur became the first state in the Northeast after Chief Minister N Biren Singh launched the 5G network at a function held at the Cabinet Hall of the Chief Minister's Secretariat in Imphal yesterday.
Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh urged the service provider to focus on the border and remote areas of the state. He highlighted the Prime Minister's vision regarding the 5G network that India had launched 5G network on 1st October 2022 with an intention to transform various sectors like health, transport, logistics, agriculture, disaster management etc.
The 5G networks offer manufacturers and telecom operators the opportunity to take advantage of technologies such as automation and artificial intelligence to build smart factories.
The launch of 5G will improve the lives of common people, improve the quality of life of the people of Manipur and generate much-needed employment opportunities which can generate revenue for the state as well.
