Population Control Law has already begun in Assam State, however, it is further added that the proposed population control policy would not be applicable on all schemes in Assam immediately as many of the benefits are offered by the central government.
Besides, the tea gardens and SC/ST communities, all others availing benefits from the government will be imposed with the two-child policy law in the future.
There are also some schemes for which government cannot impose two-child norms like availing free admission in schools and colleges, or for houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana but it will be implemented under schemes like Arunodoi and Chief Minister Awas Yojana.
The government will be introducing population norms in other government schemes gradually.
