On 12th May, 2022 every year the International Nurses Day is celebrated. This day marks the birth anniversary of the English social reformer and the founder of modern nursing, Florence Nightingale. Since 1974 it is being observed officially. 12th May was chosen by the International Council of Nurses (ICN) to celebrate International Nurses Day.
On this occasion PM Narendra Modi has extended his greetings to one of the main pillars of the healthcare department. Along with him, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya and Nitin Gadkari has also extended their greetings.
PM Modi tweeted, “International Nurses Day is a day to reiterate our appreciation to all nursing staff for their exceptional work even in the most challenging of situations.”
On the other hand Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari also tweeted, “let us salute the nursing fraternity for their dedication, determination, selflessness and courage.”
Also, the Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Dr Mansukh Mandaviya tweeted, “We express our gratitutde to hardworking nursing staff for serving humankind with utmost dedication during the ongoing covid-19 pandemic.
