U.S. media used to condemn nationalist channel like Sudarshan and alleged it to be communal because we never stopped raising our concern against Islamic conversion. Now it is singing the same rhetoric. The reason behind the change of heart of U.S. media is that this time Islamic conversion has targeted the followers of the Christian community. The uproar in the U.S. media in case of Neha who was forcibly converted to Islam in Karachi reminds me of the phrase “the wearer knows where the shoe pinches.” When Hindu girls were converted to Islam the US media was a silent spectator, but as the attack started on Christians, they shed off their so-called ‘liberal skin’. It is a lesson for innocent Hindus as well. We need to learn to stand by our own religion. Only then the most divine and ancient culture of Hinduism will flourish. Otherwise, we will be buried by the attacker community.
In a recent incident a girl named Neha who is in her early teens (around 14 yrs. of age) is forcibly converted to Islam in Karachi to marry a middle-aged man around 45 years of age. The man has kids of the age twice as Neha’s age. Neha used to follow Christianity before this conversion. This shameful act of Pakistani man has drew attention of U. S. state department. Pakistan has been declared as “a of country particular concern” for violation of religious freedom. This is not the only case of conversion for underage marriage and then the gruesome act of rape with the minor. This is one of the thousand cases. The only difference is that before this the conversion were done to Hindu girls coming from poor families of southern Sindh province. Recent two conversions of Neha and Arzoo Raza who belonged to Christian community have sent shock waves in the countries like USA. Now they are behind Pakistan to stop this malpractice in the name of Islam.
