Reacting to the allegations by the opposition party (Nagaland Congress)to the UDA government, that the Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio and its alliance BJP party are delaying the solution and that the UDA government is misleading the Nagas with the general elections slated to be held next year, Neiba Kronu, Government Spokesperson, said that the allegations are untrue and the people needs to be clarified on the issue.
Addressing a press conference at the Heritage, Kohima today, Neiba Kronu also clarified the Independence day speech by the Chief Minister, on the Naga Political Issue, stating that the present government have been patiently waiting as we want an early solution as early as possible.
On the issue of a merger with the BJP after the election, he said that the BJP is a national party and they have its principle, likewise, the Nationalist Democratic People's Party NDPP as a regional party have their principles, which we have never discussed nor created such agenda, Neiba said, and make it clear that we are maintaining our own principle.
National BJP Spokesperson, Mmhonlumo Kikon also maintained that the NDPP and the BJP party entered into a pre-poll alliance and contested the election together in 2018, and will again enter into the same formula of seat sharing 40/20 in the coming general election. The allegations made by the Congress President K Therie, are made to confuse the people, and by continuously taking the name of the Prime Minister is unbecoming as a leader of his stature, he said and added that sharing the past experience with the NDPP, our relationship has grown from leaps and bounds and it has become stronger now and will continue in the days to come. Kikon also stated that the BJP party has been very committed on all issues of the state, he said that, when people have given us the mandate, we are also fulfilling our obligations as mandated elected representatives, while referring to the Congress, Kikon stated that when you don't have any member in the assembly, it is also a very clear signal that the people have already rejected your(Congress) party. Kikon further maintained to be realistic and practical while approaching and added that the message by the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister should be conveyed to the people and that the personal allegations on both the leaders are not healthy and instead focus on issue-based discussion and debate which will show a healthy sign and healthy democracy in the state.
