Air Marshal Tejinder Singh Assumes Charge as AOC-in-C, Training Command

Air Marshal Tejinder Singh took over as the Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief (AOC-in-C) of the Indian Air Force’s Training Command. In a solemn ceremony marking the occasion, Air Marshal Tejinder paid homage to the fallen heroes by laying a wreath at the Training Command War Memorial, a gesture symbolizing his respect for the sacrifices made by the brave personnel of the Indian Air Force.

 

A seasoned officer with decades of experience in various strategic roles, Air Marshal Tejinder Singh has long been recognized for his exemplary leadership and commitment to the Indian Air Force. An alumnus of the prestigious National Defence Academy, he was commissioned into the fighter stream of the IAF on June 13, 1987. With a career spanning over three decades, he has amassed over 4500 flying hours and is a Category 'A' Qualified Flying Instructor, reflecting his proficiency and expertise in the air domain.

 

Throughout his distinguished career, Air Marshal Tejinder has held numerous pivotal positions that have shaped his leadership acumen. He has commanded a Fighter Squadron, a Radar Station, and a premier Fighter Base, alongside serving as the Air Officer Commanding in Jammu and Kashmir—a region critical to national security. His other key staff appointments include operational roles at Command HQ, Air HQ, and strategic positions in the Integrated Defence Staff, focusing on aerospace safety, planning, and operations.

 

As the Senior Air Staff Officer at Eastern Air Command, stationed in Shillong, Meghalaya, Air Marshal Tejinder played a significant role in enhancing operational efficiency and readiness in one of India’s most sensitive borders. Prior to assuming his new role as AOC-in-C Training Command, he served as the Deputy Chief of the Air Staff at Air HQ, a position that entrusted him with significant responsibilities in policy planning and operational oversight.

His exemplary service has been recognized with several prestigious awards. In 2007, he was honored with the Vayu Sena Medal for his distinguished service, and in 2022, he was conferred with the Ati Vishisht Seva Medal by the Hon'ble President of India, a testament to his exceptional contributions to the Indian Air Force.

 

As the AOC-in-C of Training Command, Air Marshal Tejinder will oversee the training of personnel who play a vital role in keeping India’s air defense capabilities at the highest level of readiness. His appointment to this significant position highlights the continued trust and confidence placed in him by the Indian Air Force to shape the future of its training infrastructure and operational preparedness.
