A BLIND DAYLIGHT ROBBERY SOLVED BY THE STAFF OF PS KOTWALI

INCIDENT:
Complainant Prashant Kumar Nayak r/o Gali Hanuman Prasad, Chandani Chowk, Delhi, age-68 years stated in his complaint that on 25.07.2021 at about 01:00 PM, someone knocked his door. When he opened the door, two unknown persons found standing on door, who asked the complainant whether he will provide his shop on rent. Complainant refused the same, but suddenly both persons caught the complainant and took him inside the room and started beating him and took out a Pistol like weapon. They hit him with the help of pistol/katta on his head, eye and nose. Meanwhile, his nephew also came there and both the alleged persons started beating him also and robbed Rs 10,000/-. When, the nephew of the complainant raised an alarm, the alleged persons fled away from the place of occurrence. The complainant was shifted to hospital for treatment. 

On the basis of his statement, a case vide FIR No. 693/2021 u/s 307/452/397/34 IPC & 25 Arms Act was registered at PS Kotwali and the investigation was taken up.

TEAM & INVESTIGATION:
A dedicated police team comprising of SI Ranvijay, SI Sandeep, Ct Dharmender, Ct Narender Ct Amit, Ct Giriraj, Ct Dinesh and Ct Rajkamal was constituted to nab culprits and tasked to work out the case shortly, under the close supervision of Inspr. Ritu Raj, SHO/PS Kotwali and guidance of Sh. Uma Shankar, ACP/Kotwali.  

It was a blind case of robbery as the culprits were not known to the victims. Local enquiry was conducted to get any clue but didn’t get anything substantial.  During the course of investigation, technical investigation was carried out, more than 50 CCTV cameras installed at the possible routes in the narrow streets of Chandani Chowk area were checked and analysed. Secret sources were deployed and all out efforts were made to trace the accused persons.
  
Consequently, on 27.07.2021, on the basis of secret information and technical investigation, the above police team apprehended an accused from Pilakhuwa, UP. He was identified as Munaf S/o Manabbar R/o Pilakhuwa, Tehsil Dhaulana, Hapur, Uttar Pradesh, age 30 years. 

On his instance, one Country Made Pistol and two Live Cartridges used in commission of recovered. 

INTERROGATION:
On sustained interrogation, accused Munaf confessed about his involvement in the above said case.  The disclosed that he, along with his associate namely Aakash r/o Meerut, UP and Himanshu r/o Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh, had committed the robbery with the victims on 25.07.2021 at Gali Hanuman Prasad, Chandani Chowk, Delhi.   
    
It further disclosed that the accused Munaf S/o Manabbar does the work of scrap dealer and he used to visit Delhi for the same and also do recce to commit crime. He disclosed that the victim deals in milk supply, so he believed that they would get handsome amount if commit robbery at his residence. Two of them went inside and one remained outside to make an alarm. He disclosed that his associate Aakash had provided him the weapon used in crime.

Accused Munaf has been found previously involved in a case of hurt registered at PS Pilakhuwa, UP. He was released from jail in August, 2020. 

DETAIL OF ACCUSED person: 
Munaf S/o Manabbar R/o Pilakhuwa, Tehsil Dhaulana, District, Hapur, Uttar Pradesh, age-30 years. (Previously found involved in one case of hurt registered at PS Pilakhuwa, UP. He was released from jail in August, 2020).

RECOVERY:
One Country Made Pistol and two live cartridges.

Further investigation of the case is in progress and efforts are being made to nab the co-accused and to affect more recovery.
