Advisor to Chief Minister, Nagaland and Associate Vice President, Athletic Federation of India, Abu Metha graced the 30th meet of the Northern Angami Sports Association (NASA) Group 'D' at Botsa Village, Kohima today.
Abu Metha said that sports in today's time have been the most-watched activity on television and winning medals brings recognition from across the world. Nagas have to excel and rise to popularity. He said that players have to aim to excel and win an international medal and not be champions of local levels and added that the state needs to bring good coaches to train the players so that the state can also be ready to host the Olympics.
Abu Metha also stated that politicians and policymakers need to provide proper infrastructure and the Nagaland Government under the leadership of Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, is working to deliver the same to the youth.
Earlier, the presidential address was delivered by the President of Northern Angami Sports Association- Group D Mr Kevilezo Kense and a special song was presented by Visenuo Rio.
