Nagaland Tug of War Association (NTWA) participated for the first time in the National Tug of Championship (36th Senior Men & 18th Mixed Senior Federation Cup National Tug of War Championship 2023) today grabbed the Silver Medal under the Men & Mixed category of 580 Kg held at Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh. Team Nagaland lost to Kerala in the final fight.
Expressing immense happiness over the winning of the Silver Medal, NTWA President Dr. Er. Vekho Swuro said, this big achievement was made through a joint venture among the pullers, officials, well-wishers & also through the moral & prayer support of the people from Nagaland. “Participating for the first time, we observed a lack of techniques in many ways & need to train a lot to grab Gold in the upcoming championship”, he added.
The Nagaland team comprises 28 contingents 22 pullers (17 boys & 5 girls), 4 officials & 2 drivers.
The team Nagaland will leave for Dimapur by 02-10-2023 & is expected to reach on 03-10-2023 late evening. (Kuzhovesa Soho, Team Manager & Media Coordinator)
