Hornbill Festival 2022 ends with Naga Unity Dance

The closing ceremony ended with the lighting of a bonfire by celebrity Chef Gary Mehigan along with the chief minister Neiphiu Rio and Judge Sanjay Kishan Kaul and other officials. Later, the official dignitaries joined the Naga Unity dance, and with this the ten-day-long Hornbill Festival 2022 officially comes to an end.

The closing ceremony of the ten-day-long Hornbill Festival 2022 finally comes to an end with Unity Dance on 10th December 2022 at the Naga Heritage Village, Kisama. 

Addressing the gathering as the honoured Guest for the closing ceremony, Judge of the Supreme Court of India, Sanjay Kishan Kaul said that the Nagas are peace-loving people who co-exist in harmony with their unique cultural traditional system. He said that he is experiencing the warmth and hospitality of the Nagas who are known for their bravery. Also stating that Nagaland, a land of festivals has been on the national and international map of tourism which is a positive step in ushering development in the state. He said that this kind of festival brings people together from all across the globe and creates a sense of unity in diversity. Further stating that the Judiciary is an important pillar of democracy which gives opportunity and mechanism for dispute resolution and ensures that no one misses out on the opportunity to approach courts due to social and economic barriers, he must ensure access to justice for all by bridging the gaps, he added. 

Special guest, Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, said that the week-long Hornbill festival witnessed the coming together of all tribes, sub-tribes, government departments, NGOs, businessmen, entrepreneurs and artists amongst others. He acknowledged the outstanding performances of the cultural troupes and artists from all over the state during the hornbill festival 2022. Rio added that there is an amazing amount of Knowledge and experience in Nagaland that can be shared and learned from. He said unity is something we all need to work together and take the right and responsible steps, and to move forward hand in hand, further adding that this is the vision we can only achieve together.
