G20: Nagaland Set to Host B20 Summit-29 Countries Participating

Shri Neiphiu Rio said the meeting will witness the convergence of 64 foreign delegates from 29 countries, including a diplomatic delegation consisting of six ambassadors from Costa Rica, Cuba, Iceland, Jamaica, Paraguay and Panama, one Deputy Head of Missions from Estonia and two Council Generals from Costa Rica and Germany.

Nagaland is all set to host the B20 summit starting from the 4th to the 6th of April 2023.  The main event will be held on 5th April, where the Minister of State for External Affairs, Government of India, Shri Dr Rajkumar Ranjan Singh is scheduled to grace the summit.

State Chief Minister Shri Neiphiu Rio while addressing a press conference in Dimapur today on 3rd April 2023 said that Nagaland is hosting the fourth and final B20 session organized by North East India, which is the official G20 dialogue forum for the global business community.  Shri Neiphiu Rio said that extensive preparations are being made in Kohima to showcase the state's capability to invite investments during the B20 summit.  Shri Neiphiu Rio said the meeting will witness the convergence of 64 foreign delegates from 29 countries, including a diplomatic delegation consisting of six ambassadors from Costa Rica, Cuba, Iceland, Jamaica, Paraguay and Panama, one Deputy Head of Missions from Estonia and two Council Generals from Costa Rica and Germany.

He informed that focused business and trade delegations from Bhutan, Bangladesh, Iceland, Japan and UAE will participate in the B20 event in Kohima.

Shri Neiphiu Rio said that the Government of Nagaland is making elaborate arrangements not only to showcase the investment and partnership opportunities in the state but also to provide a unique experience for the delegates with exposure to Nagaland's rich traditions and Heritage. 

Shri Neiphiu Rio further said that the meeting would showcase the government's initiatives to project the state as an investment-friendly destination for investors to invest and carry out business more professionally. 

As part of the programme, the Confederation of Indian Industry CII will facilitate Business to Business (B2B) and Business to Government (B2G) meetings in association with the State Government.  The delegations will also be taken to state landmarks sites including Kisama Heritage Village for a feel of the Mini Hornbill Festival and Kohima War Memorial.
