The aggrieved teachers of All Nagaland Adhoc Teachers Group ANATG 2015 Batch began their indefinite agitation in a peaceful sit-in protest today at the Naga Solidarity Park, Kohima.
Addressing the media at the venue, the spokesperson of All Nagaland Adhoc Teachers Group ANATG, Bendangtemsu Ozukum, said that the indefinite protest was called as the state government failed to give a positive response to the demands on regularisation of the 2015 batch of the all Nagaland Adhoc teachers group. He said that despite several ultimatums served to the education department, the reply came negative always, which he said was enough of the stepmotherly treatment to the 2015 batch. Bendangtemsu said that, since 2017, they have appeared in the departmental suitability exams which were conducted by the department as per their eligibility requirements and to date, the results were not declared and questioned what was the motive behind out of it. He said that they are working without any job security or benefits and added that they work the same as the regularised teachers, yet their demands are negative.
The 2015 batch of the All Nagaland Adhoc Teachers Group ANATG consists of one thousand one hundred sixty-six members, he said and stated that the members are suffering as they are not getting the benefit of anything, he said and mentioned that ten of its members have passed away while two are cancer patients, yet there is no additional benefit except the scale pay, he said. He further stated that they will continue the agitation as their demands are genuine, and questioned how long we have to serve the government to get regularized.
He also clarified that many people are confused with the 2015 batch, it is actually the name of the group which was formed in the year 2015, all of the members were appointed before 2012, he said.
The aggrieved teachers were seen holding placards and later walked to the civil secretariat to show their resentment until their demands are fulfilled despite the rain.
