BHARAT: In a bold and precise military maneuver, the Indian Army has confirmed the successful execution of Operation SINDOOR, a coordinated strike operation carried out in the early hours of May 7, targeting nine major terrorist camps located in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu & Kashmir (POJK). The operation was a direct response to the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, and aimed at dismantling the infrastructure of cross-border terrorism.
Jointly planned and executed by the Indian Armed Forces, Operation SINDOOR was conducted between 01:05 and 01:30 hours, with the primary objective of delivering justice to the victims of the Pahalgam incident and preemptively neutralizing the sources of future terror threats.
Targets Across the Border
The operation struck five terror camps in POJK and four deep inside Pakistan, all of which were confirmed as vital nodes in the terror ecosystem:
In POJK:
Sawai Nala Camp, Muzaffarabad: Linked to multiple attacks including in Sonmarg, Gulmarg, and most recently Pahalgam, this LeT hub was a key training ground for terror modules.
Syedna Belal Camp, Muzaffarabad: A Jaish-e-Mohammad staging area, known for training recruits in explosives and survival tactics.
Gulpur Camp, Kotli: Associated with terror strikes in Poonch and Rajauri; frequented by LeT commander Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi.
Abbas Camp, Kotli: Functioned as a suicide bomber training base for LeT.
Barnala Camp, Bhimber: Focused on IED and jungle warfare training.
In Pakistan:
Sarjal Camp, Sialkot: From where terrorists involved in the killing of J&K police personnel in March 2025 were launched.
Mehmoona Joya Camp, Sialkot: A Hijbul Mujahideen stronghold linked to the revival of terrorism in the Jammu region.
Markaz Taiba, Muridke: Headquarters of LeT and infamous for training terrorists involved in the 2008 Mumbai attacks.
Markaz Subhan, Bahawalpur: The nerve centre of JeM operations, used for recruitment and ideological indoctrination.

Surgical Precision, Zero Collateral
According to officials, the strikes were conducted with pinpoint accuracy using advanced technology and customized warheads to avoid civilian casualties. “Each target was engaged with clinical efficiency. The selection was based on credible intelligence and aimed solely at terror infrastructure,” said Colonel Sofyia Quereshi during the official briefing.
Wing Commander Vyomika Singh added that the operation exemplified India’s commitment to counterterrorism while ensuring the utmost restraint to prevent civilian or military escalation. “Not a single military establishment or civilian facility was targeted,” she confirmed.
Strategic Restraint, Tactical Clarity
The Indian government has reiterated its position of exercising strategic restraint despite repeated provocations. “This is not an act of war but an act of justice. India remains committed to peace but reserves the right to protect its citizens,” a senior official stated.
While Pakistan has yet to issue a formal response, Indian defence sources confirm that the Armed Forces remain on high alert to respond to any misadventure.
As the dust settles from Operation SINDOOR, India has sent a clear message its patience is not weakness, and its resolve to combat terrorism is unwavering. (adg pi)
