BJP MP Harnath Singh Yadav has attacked Owaisi's statement regarding the survey of Gyanvapi in Varanasi. On Sunday, MP Harnath Singh Yadav targeted All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen chief Asaduddin Owaisi and demanded his arrest in the sedition case.
On May 7, amid the controversy over Gyanvapi's survey in Varanasi, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) are trying to revive the era of hatred, just like the case in the 1990s.
On this issue, MP Yadav said as far as the survey of Gyanvapi in Varanasi is concerned any person and institution is free to approach the court. When the lower court's decision was challenged by the Muslim side in the High Court, the court overruled. The court's decision should be respected.
MP Yadav further said, no one needs to explain Owaisi's intention. They want to create rift between Hindus and Muslims in the country. Thus he is dreaming of becoming Jinnah. Therefore, a case of sedition should be registered against him and sent to jail immediately.
The local court had ordered a survey of the Gyanvapi mosque, which was later challenged in the Allahabad High Court. Questioning Owaisi's fear in surveying the mosque, the MP asked about the truth that would be uncovered through the survey, he added.
Yadav cited the example of the Ram Janmabhoomi judgment delivered by the Supreme Court in 2019, which was widely accepted by people and representatives of all communities. He said that Muslims should accept the order of the local court in the same way. The way Muslim brothers created and accepted communal harmony within the country on the Ram Janmabhoomi verdict. Similarly the survey of Gyanvapi should be allowed on the orders of the local court.
