The participants of North East Interstate Friendship Car Rally 2022 arrived in Kohima, Nagaland to promote fraternal ties in the North East region.
Thirty-six member participants of the Northeast Inter-State Friendship Car Rally 2022 reached the capital city of Nagaland, Kohima. The participants were delighted to explore the Heritage Village at Kisama Naga heritage village, a treasure trove of Nagaland’s art and culture.
A brief program was organized by the tourism department of Nagaland at Hotel Japfu, Kohima. Additional Director, Department of Tourism, Madam Keduosie-u Rio expressed her appreciation and gratitude to the IFCRA members for organizing this wonderful car rally, which included all the representatives of the entire Northeastern states in order to promote the North East region which has been largely neglected in the past few years despite of having the huge potential in the tourism industry sector. She said that this rally will not only helps in promoting tourism in the region but will also help in promoting peace, harmony and unity among the northeastern state and encourage them to be a part of the Great Hornbill Festival, which is organized from 1 December to 10 December every year.
IFCRA Vice President, Mr. David Sangtam said that the team has come from Imphal to Kohima and has already covered six northeastern states, with the last place to go would be Gauhati Assam. The team will be leaving for the next destination Gantok, Sikkim.
The Secretary-General, IFCRA, Mr. Pem Namsa, while highlighting the main objective of the rally, said that it was an attempt to bring about the age-old connection and enhance the ties between the people of the region, providing a platform for traditional and cultural performances. Connectivity among the people of the eight northeastern states.
The rally is organize in comemoration of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav sponsored by the North Eastern Council of the Ministry of Donor, Government of India. It is noteworthy to mention that this rally is the seventh edition which is running succefully for the last five years. The rally will conclude on 22 April 2022 in Guwahati Assam.
