Chhath pooja celebrations in Delhi, DDMA approves permission

This year Chhath Puja will be organized at Chhath Ghats of Delhi. Also, the Delhi government has given its permission. Manish Sisodia, the Deputy Chief Minister has given this information.

Recently, the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) had banned the organization of Chhath Puja in view of Covid-19. After which there was opposition to this decision everywhere. Because of the large-scale protest, DDMA has taken this decision after the meeting on Wednesday.

This year Chhath Puja will be organized at Chhath Ghats of Delhi. Also, the Delhi government has given its permission. Manish Sisodia, the Deputy Chief Minister has given this information.

Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said "In today's meeting of DDMA, it was decided that Chhath Puja will be allowed in Delhi. This will be done with very strict protocol at the places already decided by the government. A limited number of people will be allowed with the adherence to the COVID protocol.

An order issued on 30 September, the Delhi Disaster Management Authority had banned the celebrations of Chhath Puja at all public places including Ghats, temples, and river banks in the view of threat posed by COVID-19. .

After banning Chhath Puja, Manoj Tiwari had protested at Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's residence in protest against it and demanded permission for Chhath celebrations. After which on October 14, Kejriwal wrote a letter to Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal to allow Chhath Puja in Delhi.

Along with this, it has been announced to start a special Kovid-19 vaccination campaign from Tuesday for 10,000 people participating in Chhath Puja in the capital Delhi. Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Hardeep Singh Puri will launch this special vaccination campaign from Kadipur near Burari on Tuesday.

Tiwari, MP from North-East Delhi, who had strongly opposed the ban on the celebration of Chhath, had on Tuesday announced a vaccination campaign for "Chhathvratis" so that the festival can be celebrated safely. Under the campaign, more than 10,000 people across the city are to be vaccinated.
