Rashtriya Ekta Divas celebrated by BSF in Srinagar

On outset to celebrate  the “Rashtriya Ekta Diwas"  (National Unity Day) on the occasion of 147th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, popularly known as “Iron Man”,  a Mega Cycle Rally was organized by Frontier HQ BSF, Kashmir for force personnel in which 75 riders participated.

Shri Raja Babu Singh, IPS, Inspector General, BSF Kashmir graced the occasion as chief guest and participate in the  Cycle Rally which was flagged off from BSF Campus, Humhama in presence of  Sh. Subhash Chandra, A. K. Chakraborty,  S S Chandel and Umesh Tewari, DIsG, senior officers, SOs and Jawans. The rally moved through Hyderpora Chowk , Barzulla Chowk, Bakshi Stadium, Gupkar Road, Dal Lake and culminated at Botanical Garden.  In the air filled with patriotic scores, The cycles hoisting the Tri-colors were welcomed by the locals at different places in Srinagar with lot of enthusiasm and exhibited a great sense of patriotism & National Integration.  

While conversing with media on this occasion, IG BSF, Kashmir reiterated about the glorious history of post Independence unification of various princely states with Indian Republic including Kashmir, all due to the persuasive efforts of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.  He further emphasized on role and commitment of Border Security Force in thwarting any ill designs of enemy to  disrupt the national harmony and peace.

The rally culminated with mesmerising performance by BSF Brass Band and the best wishes extended to force personnel, locals and whole country, while remembering  the major contributions of the “Iron Man” of modern unified India.
