64 militants have surrendered in front of Assam Cheif Minister Sarbananda Sonowal. According to the information received, the cultural body was surrendered at Srimali Shankar Dev Kalashetra in which 32 people of United people's Revolutionary Front, 13 of Dimasha National Liberation Army, 18 of ULFA, and one member of People's Democratic Council Of Karbi Longri(Pidikke) had their weapons and surrendered with ammunition.

These 64 surrendered people include ULFA(Independent) Deputy Commander in Cheif Dhriti Rajkkhowa who surrendered to the Cheif Minister of Assam. Assigned weapons include 14 AK-series rifles with ammunition, an M-20 semi automatic rifle, 15 pistols with two 9mm carbines, a lethal gun and 20 shells.

Cheif Minister Sonewal said that the surrendered people are welcome in the mainstream of society, he also asked them to commit themselves to contribute to the nation building and promote brotherhood and friendship to other terrorists as well, urged to.leave the way of violence. He said that the government has taken appropriate steps for surrendering of such people.

6000 rupees will.be given to the surrendered people every month for rehabilitation by the Central Government and after 3 years, four lakh rupees will also be given as a grant in view of the behaviour. Apart from this, the state government is starting a plan to rehabilitate these people. Under this scheme, a project is being started at Champuara in Mangaldoi, in which a goat breeding farm has been established at a cost of Rs 80 lakhs in which these people will.be given employment. 

It is aware that Rajkkhowa was arrested on 10 November by the police of the Army Assam, and Meghalaya under an operation. Two days later, he surrendered to the Army and in a programme he surrendered formally before the state government by throwing his arms and other terrorists also surrendered.
