THE FIREARM ‘SOPHISTICATED PISTOL’ USED IN COMMISSION OF OFFENCE RECOVERED FROM THEIR POSSESSION.

Special Staff of North West District apprehended two desperate criminals namely, (1) Sohail (age- 22 years) S/o Aas Mohd. R/o H. No. 214, HMP 12 Gaj, Near Cement Godown, Raghubir Nagar, Delhi and (2) Aas Mohd. (age- 20 years) @ Babu s/o Taj Mohd. r/o H. No. 186, HMP 12 Gaj, Near Cement Godown, Raghubir Nagar, Delhi. Both these accused were wanted in highlighted daylight murder case of Raghubir Nagar PS Khyala, West District on 25.06.2021 at 12:00 Noon in which they had committed murder of a property dealer Vinod Bhati in his office ‘Ganesh Properties’. The firearm, sophisticated pistol alongwith two live cartridges, which was used in murder of Vinod Bhati were recovered from their possession. They had committed murder of Vinod Bhati in revenge of murder of their uncle Mohd. Riyaz which was occurred on 14.10.2018. Vinod Bhati was accused of murder of their uncle Mohd. Riyaz and he was recently acquitted from that case and released from Jail on 01.04.2021.

Incident and Team:
On 21.07.2021 at 5.00 PM, SI Kuldeep and Ct. Ankush of Special Staff, North-West District received an information that two persons namely, Sohail and Babu r/o Raghubir Nagar who always keep illegal firearm in their possession and who had committed murder recently in the area of PS Khyala were roaming in District Park near City Park Hotel, Pitampura and they may commit any offence. Immediately, a team of Special Staff led by Inspr. Amit Kumar, I/C Special Staff comprising of SI Kuldeep, ASI Mahender, Ct. Ankush, Ct. Rohit, Ct. Satish and Ct. Somveer was constituted in close supervision of Sh. Suresh Kaushik, ACP/Ops/NW to apprehend the criminals. 

The team laid the trap at the main entrance of the District Park. At 6.30 PM, two persons coming out from the District Park were overpowered by the team at instance of the informer. They disclosed their identity as (1) Sohail (age- 22 years) S/o Aas Mohd. R/o H. No. 214, HMP 12 Gaj, Near Cement Godown, Raghubir Nagar, Delhi and (2) Aas Mohd. (age- 20 years) @ Babu s/o Taj Mohd. r/o H. No. 186, HMP 12 Gaj, Near Cement Godown, Raghubir Nagar, Delhi. On their cursory search, one sophisticated pistol was recovered from possession of Sohail and one magazine loaded with two live cartridges was recovered from possession of Aas Mohd. @ Babu. 

Consequently, a case vide FIR No. 709/21 dated 21/07/2021 u/s 25/35 Arms Act was registered at PS Maurya Enclave, Delhi and investigation was taken up.

Interrogation:
During sustained interrogation, accused Sohail and Aas Mohd. @ Babu disclosed that they were wanted in a murder case of PS Khyala in which they along with other 4-5 associates had committed murder of a property dealer Vinod Bhati on 25.06.2021 at 12 Noon in his office ‘Ganesh Properties’ situated at Raghubir Nagar, Delhi. After that, they were evading their arrest and they were roaming in different parts of Delhi to save themselves from eyes of police. The firearm recovered from their possession was the same firearm which they had used to commit murder of Vinod Bhati.

During further interrogation, accused Sohail disclosed that on 14.10.2018, at 10.00 PM, Vinod Bhati and his associates Chanki, Suraj and Manoj @ Munna were beating him and his uncle Mohd. Riyaz inside the Patiram Park, Raghubir Nagar on some minor issue. Meanwhile, Mohd. Rafi, another uncle of Sohail reached there and tried to settle the matter but Vinod Bhati became aggressive and he alongwith his associates assaulted Mohd. Riyaz on his head with a knife. Mohd Riyaz had become unconscious at the spot. After that, Vinod Bhati & his associates had fled from the spot. Mohd Riyaz was shifted to the Hospital but he succumbed to injuries. A case vide FIR No. 322/18 dated 15.10.2018 u/s 302/307/34 IPC was registered at PS Khyala, West District in this regard. Vinod Bhati was later on arrested in this case and he was running in judicial custody. But, Vinod Bhati was acquitted in that case and he was released from jail recently on 01.04.2021. After releasing from jail, he started his job of property dealing and finance from his office ‘Ganesh Properties’ and he started living normal life. 

Accused Sohail and Aas Mohd. @ Babu has further disclosed that seeing the normal life of Vinod Bhati who had committed murder of their uncle Mohd. Riyaz, they got frustrated and they made a plan to eradicate him. They had the sophisticated pistol of their deceased uncle Mohd. Riyaz who was also a criminal and taking revenge of murder of their uncle Mhd. Riyaz, on 25.06.2021, at 12 Noon, they along with their 4-5 associates reached the office Ganesh Properties of Vinod Bhati on motorcycles and they fired many rounds on Vinod Bhati who was sitting inside his office and after that they fled from the spot with firing in air also. Vinod Bhati was brought to Hospital by his relatives but he was declared dead in the Hospital. A case vide vide FIR No. 565/21 dated 25.06.2021 u/s 302/307/34 IPC and 25/27 Arms Act PS Khyala West District was registered in this regard and Police was conducting frequent raids to apprehend them. But they were fleeing and frequently changing their locations to evade their arrest. Today, they had come to the District Park, Pitampura but they were apprehended and the firearm which was used in murder of Vinod Bhati was recovered from their possession.

Profile of accused persons:
1. Sohail s/o Aas Mohd. r/o H. No. 214, HMP 12 Gaj, Near Cement Godown, Raghubir Nagar, Delhi aged 22 years, he is unmarried, studied upto 8th class, sells old clothes.
2. Aas Mohd. @ Babu s/o Taj Mohd. r/o H. No. 186, HMP 12 Gaj, Near Cement Godown, Raghubir Nagar, Delhi aged 20 years, unmarried, studied upto 9th class, sells old clothes.

Recovery:
• One sophisticated pistol with two live cartridges.
