BHARAT: A viral video circulating on social media has been exposed as fake by the Press Information Bureau (PIB).The video falsely claimed that the Pakistani Army destroyed an Indian Army post manned by the so-called “20 Raj Battalion” a unit that doesn't exist.
The video was widely shared by numerous fake and unverified accounts on social media, clearly forming part of a coordinated disinformation campaign. On close inspection and verification PIB confirmed that the video was completely staged and aimed at misleading the public. There is no such battalion named "20 Raj" in the Indian Army making the claim not only baseless but entirely fabricated.
In a fact check post on X (formerly Twitter) PIB stated that the video was misleading and false and warned users not to fall for such propaganda. They urged people to rely on official sources for credible updates regarding national security matters. The video in question was designed to stir public emotions and possibly influence public opinion with falsehoods.
This is not the first time such misinformation has been spread online with the intent to malign India's defence forces. The Indian Army, with its professional structure and transparency does not maintain secrecy around its regimental identities. Hence any claim involving a unit that does not exist should immediately raise suspicion.
