As a part of the celebration of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav (AKAM) to commemorate 75 years of India’s Independence, and for the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, the National Flag was hoisted today by Neiphiu Rio, Chief Minister, Nagaland at World War 2 Museum, Kisama, Kohima.
Speaking as the chief guest, Neiphiu Rio said that various campaigns are going on commemorating the seventy-fifth year of India's Independence. He said that for the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, 4.5lakhs flags were procured so that they can reach every nook and corner, and hoisted in every household, showing our commitment and respect as citizens of India, he said. Neiphiu Rio also stated that the National Flag is a symbol of pride and the hard-earned struggle of the people who have sacrificed their lives, we have to salute the people, their sacrifices and freedom, he said.
Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio also talked about the ongoing Naga political issue stating that today, the Naga people are struggling with the Naga issue, and stated that this will be resolved soon and with the ceasefire and political dialogue, we should all work towards the resolution of Naga issue, he said and hopes that there is peace in our land.
Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio called upon all citizens to hoist the national flag and participate in the grand celebration of the seventy-five years of India's Independence.
