Nagaland will be the only state in the country to run the government without opposition. This resolution has been passed after the consultation of the leaders of the government and the opposition parties. The new government is named the "United Democratic Alliance".
In 2015 too, after the suggestion of the Center, the opposition-less government was formed by passing the resolution.
This time also, all the parties put their seal of agreement on the proposal of opposition less government in Nagaland in order to bring forth the earliest solution to the long-awaited Naga political solution.
Nagaland Chief Minister Shri. Neiphiu Rio said that the resolution was passed unanimously to adopt an opposition-less Government for the welfare of the earliest possible Naga political solution.
