The Naga People's Front NPF party held a ticket distributing ceremony for the coming twelfth Assembly Elections in Manipur State at the NPF Central Office, Kohima Nagaland.
The ten candidates were selected from 41 Chandel, 42 Tengnoupal, 43 Phungyar, 44 Ukhrul, 45 Chingai, 47 Karong, 48 Mao,49 Tadubi, 52 Tamei and 53 Tamenlong.
Dr Shiirhozelie Liezietsu, President of Naga People's Front party, said that for the upcoming Manipur elections, the party faced a difficult situation when all the leaders were in the fray applying for the ticket. However, it changed into a favourable one when some party leaders withdrew their candidatures from the race. He said that elections offer the opportunity to party leaders to come into contact with the grass-root level party functionaries. He said they had issued party tickets to the ten NPF leaders considering their right candidature. He congratulated the selected leaders stating that the party ticket is a license that will earn a good deal of goodwill and not just a piece of paper to contest the elections but a responsibility. He wished upon the candidates to emerge victoriously.
Earlier, Dr Shiirhozelie Liezietsu handed over the party ticket and pledged to the ten candidates, while Reverend Doctor Vevo Phesao pronounced the blessing.
Short speeches were delivered by Lok Sabha MP Dr Lorho S. Pfoze, Chairman of Ticket Selection Committee, Mr Samuel Ridom, Working President and Chairman of Election Commission of NPF-Manipur State Unit and Mr TR Zeliang, Leader of NPF party.
