On 24-05-2022 a grenade was hurled on police party at main chowk Yaripora, however the grenade missed the intended target and exploded in the crowd nearby in which 13 persons got injured.In this connection, a case FIR No. 24/2022 under relevant sections of law was registered in
Police Station Yaripora and investigation of the case was set into motion.
During the course of investigation Kulgam Police jointly with 1RR, arrested four terrorist associates/conspirators namely Nasir Nabi Dar S/O Ghulam Nabi Dar R/O Gundchahal, Frisal, Aaqib Majid Ganie S/O Abdul Majid Ganie R/O Badroo, Yaripora, Mohd Abass Dar S/O Abdul Ghani Dar R/O Gundchahal, Frisal and Zahid Ali Bhat S/O Ali Mohd Bhat R/O Kokergund, Yaripora, their involvement in the said crime is established and from their possession incriminating material including Pistol 01 No, Pistol Magzine 02 No, Hand grenade 01 No, Pistol rounds14 No were recovered.
Accordingly they have been formally arrested in the case and further investigation of the case is going on.
It was a great synergy and coordination between Indian army and police which are foiling every attempt of terrorists and their associates in south Kashmir's Kulgam and other areas.
