The National Defence Academy (NDA), Khadakwasla, celebrated the passing out of its 147th course with a splendid ceremonious parade at the Khetarpal Parade Ground on 30th November 2024. The occasion marked the conclusion of three years of stringent military training for 357 cadets, who will now proceed to their respective pre-commissioning academies.
The parade, a proud moment for the academy and the graduating cadets, was inspected by Air Chief Marshal Amar Preet Singh, PVSM, AVSM, and Chief of the Air Staff. A total of 1,265 cadets participated in the parade, including 357 from the passing-out batch. Among them were 215 Army cadets, 38 Naval cadets, and 104 Air Force cadets, along with 19 cadets from friendly foreign countries such as Bhutan, Tajikistan, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Bangladesh, Malaysia, Sudan, Tanzania, Kenya, Zambia, and Maldives.
Notably, 47 female cadets presently undergoing training in their third, fourth, and fifth terms also participated in the parade, echoing the increasing integration of women in the armed forces.
Cadet Ankit was awarded the President's Gold Medal for securing the top position in the Overall Order of Merit, while Cadet Yuvraj Singh Chauhan received the President's Silver Medal for his second-place finish. Cadet Jodha Thongiaomayum bagged the President's Bronze Medal for securing third place. The prestigious Chiefs of Staff Banner, awarded to the Champion Squadron, was presented to the Golf Squadron for their exceptional performance.
Air Chief Marshal Singh congratulated the graduating cadets, medal winners, and the Champion Squadron for their phenomenal accomplishments. Addressing the cadets and their proud families, he conveyed gratitude to the parents for their support and encouragement. He also highlighted the significance of jointness in service and highlighted the growing role of technology in military operations, urging cadets to adapt to the revolution in military affairs.
As these young leaders step into the next phase of their journey, their devotion and dedication reaffirm the NDA's legacy as the Cradle of Military Leadership. (PR)
