Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, Education Minister Jitubhai Vaghani, BJP State President CR Patil, Former Minister Bhupendra Singh Chudasama, State Vice President Gordhan Zadafia, Amit Thakar, Pradeep Singh Vaghela and many BJP leaders of the state, who was in charge of Gandhinagar elections reached the state office to celebrate the victory. After Bhupendra Patel became the Chief Minister, this is the first major victory of the Bharatiya Janata Party.
Remarkably, the BJP had won a majority in all six municipal corporations, most districts and most local municipalities, and taluka panchayats under Rupani.
Given that Gandhinagar is the capital of Gujarat and that a large number of residents work for the government, the municipal corporation elections assume a special significance. The GMC elections have added significance as this is the last major election before the Assembly Elections, scheduled to be held in December 2022.
After Surat, the Aam Aadmi Party has proved fatal for the Congress in the elections of Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation. Political analysts were considering the Aam Aadmi Party as an alarm bell for the BJP. Therefore, after seeing the results of the Gandhi Nagar Municipal Corporation in Surat, it seems that it has proved to be very fatal for the Congress.
Congress got 3 seats, whereas, Aam Admi Party won only 1 seat. Aam Admi Party was so confident that they will win the elections but, BJP has smashed the dreams of Aam Admi Party.
