GOOD WORK BY THE STAFF OF PS LAHORI GATE, NORTH DISTRICT, DELHI

Keeping in view, the regular directions of senior officers regarding checking the menace of criminals and to curb the street crime, police presence has been increased in the beat area of PS Lahori Gate by regular area patrolling and randomly conducting picket checking during odd hours to shock the criminals. PS Lahori Gate staff has also been directed for maximum use of ROKO-TOKO strategy of Delhi Police.  

BRIEF FACTS:
In the intervening night of 15/16 July, 2021, ASI Inderjeet, HC Bijender and Ct Sachin were patrolling in the area, under the close supervision of Inspr. Jarnail Singh, SHO/PS Lahori Gate and overall guidance of Sh. Uma Shankar, ACP/Kotwali. 

During patrolling at about 11:00 PM, the patrolling staff reached at Church Mission Road, in-front of Haryana Paneer Bhandar near Gol Hatti Chowk, Lahori Gate and they noticed a suspect person roaming there. The police team signalled him to stop for checking, but instead of stopping he tried to escape from the stop by taking steps briskly. But the alert, dedicated and valour police officials swung into action, apprehended and overpowered him strategically after some chase.

 On sustained enquiry, the suspect was identified as Mohd. Muneer S/o Late Mohd. Shah Alam, age 28 years.  On his cursory search, one Country Made Pistol along with Two Live Cartridges and one Mobile Phone were recovered from his possession. On verification, the mobile phone recovered from his possession was found stolen PS Kashmere Gate area vide e-FIR No. 000751/2021, dated 07.07.2021, u/s 379 IPC.

As the accused was arrested with firearm, accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 397/2021, dated 16.07.2021, u/s 25 Arms Act & 411 IPC was registered in PS Lahori Gate against the accused and investigation was taken up. 

INTERROGATION:
During interrogation, the accused Mohd. Muneer disclosed that he purchased the recovered Country Made Pistol and cartridges from a person namely Fakruddin R/o Meerut, Uttar Pradesh a few months ago. It further disclosed that the accused is a habitual and desperate criminal with a history of 17 criminal involvements in the cases including preparation of Dacoity, Theft and Arms Act registered at PSs Okhla Industrial Area, Lahori Gate, Kotwali, New Usmanpur, Gandhi Nagar and Chandni Chowk etc. 

The accused has studied up to 6th standard and is drug addict. He commits crime to fulfil his requirements of drug.

1. Mohd. Muneer S/o Late Mohd. Shah Alam R/o Khajuri Khas, Delhi, age-28 years.

RECOVERY:
• One Country Made Pistol & 2 live cartridges. 
• One mobile phone stolen from PS Kashmere Gate area.
