Defence minister Rajnath singh said The construction of Atal Tunnel is dedicated to Soldiers Guarding those who living border areas.

Prime Minister Narendra modi Inaugurated longest highway Tunnel in Himachal Pradesh’s Rohtang which named Atal Tunnel connects solang Valley near Manali to Sissu in lahaul district , Atal tunnel is longest highway tunnel in the world which built at the 3000 metres. Defence minister Rajnath singh accompanied the prime minister narendra modi and also Chief defence staff General Bipin accompanied the prime minister. PM modi said that the atal tunnel gives the power of india infrastructure and it has to improve border infrastructure which has been demand for long time  and such plans got stuck in middle and connectivity has direct connection which related to security issues.

PM also said that we completed 26 years work of this tunnel and after 2014 project progressed unparalleled pace. He said the development of border infrastructure are common people and also our soldiers and there is a important to protect our country , Also many other projects were made like Atal tunnel . The Daulat Beg Olidi in ladakh which closed 40 to 45 years and there is a pressure behind it. The Prime Minister flagged in the bus which is carrying  15 passenger from north portal of Atal tunnel in Sissu valley. Defence minister said that Border organisation developed the construction of Atal tunnel which dedicated for the soldiers those who living border areas.

The constructions of Atal Tunnel which used 15000 tonnes of steel and cost around 3200 crore and it has scheduled to completed by may but due to covid 19 pandemic it has been delayed . This tunnel provide almost all weather connectivity to the troops in ladakh  and it is a unique feature of tunnel which snow galleries has built at the approach to tunnel from manali side. Emergency tunnel is also another feature of tunnel which under the main tunnel and would provide the emergency exit if any incident takes place and tunnels also provide telephone in every 150 metres and fire hydrant every 60 metres , incident detection system with CCTV cameras in every 250 metres. It seems there is tourism and winter sports in Lahaul.
