The condition of Hindus in Bangladesh is getting worse. Cases of communal violence are coming to the fore. Hindus are constantly being targeted and atrocities are being done on them. Now a case of setting fire to the houses of Hindus in Rangpur Upazila Peerganj has come to the fore. The incident happened on Sunday, in which 20 houses were badly burnt. As per report of Bangladesh's media house Dhaka Tribune, this incident took place in Jelpoli of Majhipara in Ramnathpur Union, a village in Peerganj.
As per the police, the matter is related to a social media post, after which this tension arises. A Hindu man is accused of posting a religiously objectionable post. The police reached the spot and provided security to this young man and also secured his house, but the miscreants set fire to 15-20 houses nearby in that location.
In this case Chairman Mohammad Saadkul Islam told the Dhaka Tribune, "The attackers belonged to the local units of Jamaat-e-Islami and its student wing Islamic Chhatra Shibir." The fire service got information about the incident at around 9:50 pm. After this, fire tenders from Peerganj, Mithapukur and Rangpur cities reached the spot to douse the fire. They were at the spot till 3 am on Monday morning.
On Wednesday, 3 people were killed and about 60 people were injured in the communal violence that broke out during Durga Puja celebrations in Hajiganj Upazila of Chandipur in Bangladesh. During this, attacks were carried out at more than 80 places including Banskhali in Chittagong, Pekua in Cox's Bazar and Chapainwabganj in Shivganj, which led to unrest in Bangladesh and Border Guard Bangladesh personnel in different parts of the country to bring the situation under control. Large contingents of police and RAB had to be deployed. The situation remained grim in Chandpur, Cox's Bazar, Bandarban, Sylhet, Chittagong and Ghazipur after the violent clashes.
