Bangladesh Police have identified the man who was placing Quran at Durga Pooja Pandal. The man responsible for inciting violence which led to attacks in Comilla and other places is Iqbal Hossain.
The police identified Iqbal after analyzing video footage at the puja venue, later informed Comilla superintendent of police (SP) Farooq Ahmed. However, he is yet to be arrested and manhunt is on to nab him.

The CCTV footage retrieved by the police, clearly showed Iqbal taking a copy of the Quran from a mosque and walking to the Durga Puja venue.
The Bangladesh Hindu Unity Council in a statement said, the puja mandap at Nanua Dighi in Comilla was attacked after "rumours of insult to the Quran" spread among locals.
