Bangladesh: On Durga Puja Pandals Pakistan Backed Jamaat Behind Attacks

Pakistan-backed Jamaat-e-Islami (JEI) was allegedly behind the attacks, said the reports. Sheikh Hasina had posted paramilitary force in 22 districts, in the wake of the attacks.

As, attack on durga pooja pandals in Banladesh, India is in touch with them, allegedly carried outlawed radical group Jammat-e-Islami.

A day after four persons were killed in violence, after that some Durga Puja pandals in southern Bangladesh were vandalised by unidentified men, on Friday. Report said that Pakistan-backed Jamaat-e-Islami (JEI) was allegedly behind the attacks.

Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina had posted paramilitary force in 22 districts, in the wake of the attacks. She had also vowed to bring the perpetrators to justice.

New Delhi is in touch with Dhaka regarding “disturbing reports of untoward incidents involving attacks in religious gatherings in Bangladesh”, Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said.

She also said that "We are getting a large amount of information. This is an era of technology and those involved in the incident will definitely be tracked down with the use of the technology."

Further, she appealed to India to remain alert against the escalation of any communal violence.
