Terrorists shot at and critically injured a BJP Sarpanch at Akhran area of Qazigund in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district late this evening, officials said Tuesday.
Terrorists fired at Arif Ahmed Shah son of Mushtaq Ahmed near his home. “He sustained bullet wounds in his neck and abdomen. He was immediately shifted to Government Medical College Anantnag where his condition is stated as very critical.
The attack came at a time when security forces are maintaining a highest level of alert in the wake of first anniversary of Article 370 .
Intelligence agencies had already warned of an terrorist attack ahead of completing one year of abrogating article 370 and construction of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.
