Amit Khare appointed as Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Advisor
On October 12 Amit Khare has been appointed as PM Modi's Advisor. After former cabinet secretary PK Sinha and former secretary Amarjit Sinha left the PMO as advisors this year.
Amit Khare, former Human Resource, a 1985 batch IAS officer and Information Broadcasting Secretary, has been appointed as an advisor to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. His appointment order was issued on October 12. He retired as the Higher Education Secretary on September 30.
An order said that the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the appointment of Amit Khare as Advisor to the PM in the Prime Minister's Office. He also played an important role in bringing about significant changes in the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting regarding digital media rules.
After former cabinet secretary PK Sinha and former secretary Amarjit Sinha left the PMO as advisors this year, he joined the Prime Minister's Office. Khare has the ability to take clear decisions with utmost transparency. He was one of the few secretaries under PM Modi, who at one point headed the Department of Higher Education and Schools in the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting along with Human Resource Development.
