With an aim to further cement AWAAM - Army Connect, children from Gurjar & Bakharwal community from various parts of Pahalgam & Anantnag district were taken to Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry Regimental Centre under the unique name of PRAYAAS A CHINAR CORPS INITIATIVE . The visit was an outcome of overwhelming requests of locals specially from Gujjar and Bakarwal community to conduct such educational cum motivational tour to improve awareness and motivate them about Indian Army and rich history of the nation. As part of the continued initiative of Chinar Corps, Chinar Air Defence Brigade attempted to fulfill the aspiration of locals of South Kashmir/ Anantnag.
33 Students including Gurjar Boys and Girls of various parts of Pahalgam & Anantnag district visited Jammu & Kashmir Light Infantry Regimental Centre and witnessed the rigorous training that every soldier undergoes and the latest training facilities available in the training establishment. Students were also shown a movie showcasing the rich historical traditions of Jammu & Kashmir Light Infantry which epitomizes valour and nationalism. This was an extraordinary school trip for students which left an indelible mark with the exhilarating experience in which they were shown the true meaning of serving the nation.
Mr Altaf Chaudhary, social activist from Pahlagm, Mrs Mariam, President International Gurjar Mahasabha & Mrs Amna , prominent social activist from Gurjar community & kids appreciated the efforts of Indian Army in guiding the youth of the Kashmir for their better future. The kids and all the present gatherings expressed that such experiences help in kindling the ambition and motivating them to excel in life.
On the culmination of the visit Cdr Chinar AD Bde , Brig Tarun Narula interacted with the school children and social activist accompanying them. He emphasized on the importance of the role of education in upliftment of children and also various avenues available to join Army.
