President Draupadi Murmu along with prime Minister Shree Narendra Modit today paid tribute to the former PM and BJP stalwart late Atal Bihari Vajpayee ji on his fifth death anniversary. Many other cabinet ministers including home minister Amit Shah, defence minister, Rajnath singh etc. were also present there. The event was held at Sadaiva Atal, Rajghat, New Delhi. PM Modi said, India greatly benefitted from Atal Bihari’s leadership.
Leaders from National Democratic Alliance (NDA), other than BJP, were, for the first time, officially invited for the event. Hence, senior BJP leaders were, this time, joined by their allies in National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in paying tribute to the late BJP stalwart.
Among the NDA allies who gathered at Sadaiv Atal, today morning, were Praful Patel, AIADMK's M Thambidurai, and Chief of Hindustani Awam Morcha former Bihar Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi, Union Minister and Apna Dal (Sonelal) leader Anupriya Patel and All Jharkhand Students' Union chief Sudesh Mahto.
Atal Bihari Vajpayee served three times as PM of India,. He was a politician, poet and a true statesman. He was a leader under whose tenure India witnessed various episodes varying from nuclear testing to winning Kargil war, to launching of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyaan, to national highways development projects. His legacy in poetry is remarkable as he penned his thoughts down through a number of poems.
His steadfastness towards assured future of the motherland, India, is corroborated by screamers of his poems, like, “ hindu tan-man, hindu jeevan, rag-rag hindu mera parichay”, “kadam mila kar chalna hai”, and “ main rahun ya na rahun, yeh desh rehna chahiye”. The event was flaunted by two musical tributes given to Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ji.
